The XRPL ecosystem thrives because of countless selfless contributions — from bug fixes and documentation, to new SDKs and protocol improvements. Much of this work happens quietly, without fanfare, but it’s what makes XRPL stronger for everyone.

Glow was created to change that.

Glow is XRPL Commons’ new retroactive funding program: a way for the community to say thank you by recognizing and rewarding the people who make XRPL better.

🌟 Why Glow?

In most funding programs, developers apply with an idea and hope for approval. But some of the most important work happens outside of planned projects:

  • Refactoring code nobody sees, but everybody relies on
  • Writing docs that help new contributors get started
  • Fixing edge cases in core protocol or SDKs
  • Building standards that shape the future of XRPL

Glow flips the model. Instead of rewarding promises, it celebrates the impact that already happened.

This means contributors don’t have to pitch or compete — they simply get recognized for meaningful work they’ve done.

🛠 How Glow Works
  • 🕵️ Scouts nominate contributors and projects
  • 🙌 The community shows support by voting
  • ⚖️ Judges review nominations and finalize awards
  • ⚡ Awards are disbursed in XRP

Glow runs in monthly waves, ensuring a steady rhythm of recognition and new opportunities to celebrate contributors. Glow itself is open source, check out the documentation here.

🚀 The Mission

Glow’s mission is simple:

  • Celebrate contributors who keep XRPL strong
  • Create a pathway for developers to grow from first commit → ecosystem leader
  • Build a culture of recognition and transparency in funding

Every contribution matters. Every contributor deserves to be seen. Glow is how the XRPL community makes that visible.

If you know someone who’s making XRPL better — suggest them.
If you’re part of the community — show your support by voting.
